Suffolk England - Based to the north-east of The city of London, the rural county of Suffolk is part of the region of The United Kingdom called East Anglia. The county of Suffolk incorporates a land area of 1,466 sq mls plus a population of roughly seven hundred and thirty thousand. Suffolk is bounded by the neighbouring counties of Essex, Norfolk and Cambridgeshire, Ipswich is the major town, while additional vital towns are Lowestoft, Felixstowe, Stowmarket, Newmarket and Bury Saint Edmunds. Suffolk is mainly flat and low-lying, there are wetland areas in the northern part of the county that are within The Broads National Park. From 1889-1974 the county was split into two administrative counties, West Suffolk and East Suffolk.
