Suffolk UK - Located to the north-east of Greater london, the rural county of Suffolk is part of the region of The UK called East Anglia. The county has an area of 1,466 square mls along with a population of about 730,000. The county of Suffolk borders the neighbouring counties of Essex, Norfolk and Cambridgeshire, the major town is Ipswich, whilst other significant towns are Lowestoft, Stowmarket, Newmarket, Felixstowe and Bury Saint Edmunds. Suffolk is primarily low-lying and flat, in the northern part of the county you'll find wetland areas which are part of The Broads. From 1889-1974 the county was divided into two administrative counties, West Suffolk and East Suffolk.
