Suffolk - To be found to the north-east of London, the rural county of Suffolk is in the region of The UK called East Anglia. Suffolk has a land area of 1,466 square miles plus a population of approximately 730,000. The county is bounded by the counties of Essex, Cambridgeshire and Norfolk, the county town is Ipswich, whilst other significant towns include Lowestoft, Felixstowe, Newmarket, Stowmarket and Bury St Edmunds. The county is principally flat and low-lying, you will discover wetland areas in the northern part of the county which are part of The Broads National Park. From 1889-1974 Suffolk was divided into two administrative counties, East Suffolk and West Suffolk.
