Suffolk England - Placed to the north-east of The city of London, the rural county of Suffolk is within the area of The United Kingdom known as East Anglia. The county has a land area of 1,466 sq miles and a population of around seven hundred and thirty thousand. Suffolk borders the counties of Cambridgeshire, Norfolk and Essex, Ipswich is the capital town, while other major towns include Bury Saint Edmunds, Stowmarket, Felixstowe, Newmarket and Lowestoft. The county of Suffolk is primarily low-lying and flat, in the north of the county you can find wetland areas which are within The Broads National Park. From 1889-1974 the county was divided into two administrative counties, East Suffolk and West Suffolk.
