Suffolk Review - Based to the north-east of The city of London, the rural county of Suffolk is part of the area of The United Kingdom called East Anglia. The county has a land area of 1,466 sq miles and has a population of about 730,000. The county of Suffolk is bounded by the counties of Essex, Norfolk and Cambridgeshire, the capital town is Ipswich, whilst additional important towns are Lowestoft, Stowmarket, Newmarket, Felixstowe and Bury St Edmunds. The county is generally flat and low-lying, in the north of the county you will find wetland areas which are part of The Broads National Park. During the period 1889-1974 the county was separated into two administrative counties, East Suffolk and West Suffolk.
