Suffolk - Located to the north-east of London, the rural county of Suffolk is within the region of The UK referred to as East Anglia. The county of Suffolk has a land area of 1,466 sq miles plus a population of about 730,000. The county of Suffolk is bordered by the neighbouring counties of Cambridgeshire, Norfolk and Essex, the county town is Ipswich, and additional significant towns include Lowestoft, Newmarket, Stowmarket, Felixstowe and Bury St Edmunds. The county is for the most part low-lying and flat, in the north of the county there are wetland areas which are part of The Broads National Park. From 1889-1974 Suffolk was split into 2 administrative counties, West Suffolk and East Suffolk.
