Suffolk England - Established to the north-east of The city of London, the rural county of Suffolk is part of the region of The United Kingdom generally known as East Anglia. The county incorporates a land area of 1,466 sq mls along with a population of approximately 730,000. The county of Suffolk is bounded by the counties of Cambridgeshire, Norfolk and Essex, the major town is Ipswich, while additional important towns include Lowestoft, Newmarket, Felixstowe, Stowmarket and Bury St Edmunds. Suffolk is principally flat and low-lying, you'll find wetland areas in the north of the county which are within The Broads. From 1889-1974 the county of Suffolk was split into two administrative counties, East Suffolk and West Suffolk.
