Suffolk UK - Positioned to the north-east of The city of London, the rural county of Suffolk is within the area of England referred to as East Anglia. The county incorporates a land area of 1,466 sq miles plus a population of approximately 730,000. The county of Suffolk touches the neighbouring counties of Cambridgeshire, Norfolk and Essex, the major town is Ipswich, while additional important towns include Bury St Edmunds, Newmarket, Felixstowe, Stowmarket and Lowestoft. From 1889-1974 the county was divided into two administrative counties, East Suffolk and West Suffolk.
