Suffolk - Established to the north-east of Greater london, the rural county of Suffolk is in the area of England generally known as East Anglia. The county of Suffolk incorporates a land area of 1,466 square miles and a population of around seven hundred and thirty thousand. Suffolk touches the counties of Essex, Norfolk and Cambridgeshire, the capital town is Ipswich, whilst other vital towns include Bury St Edmunds, Newmarket, Felixstowe, Stowmarket and Lowestoft. During the period 1889-1974 Suffolk was separated into two administrative counties, West Suffolk and East Suffolk.
