Suffolk UK - Positioned to the north-east of The city of London, the county of Suffolk is within the area of The United Kingdom generally known as East Anglia. Suffolk has an area of 1,466 square miles and has a population of roughly 0.73 million. The county is bordered by the counties of Cambridgeshire, Norfolk and Essex, the major town is Ipswich, whilst other important towns include Bury St Edmunds, Newmarket, Felixstowe, Stowmarket and Lowestoft. The county is mainly flat and low-lying, in the northern part of the county you'll find wetland areas which are part of The Broads National Park. During the period 1889-1974 the county was divided into 2 administrative counties, West Suffolk and East Suffolk.
