Suffolk - Positioned to the north-east of London, the county of Suffolk is part of the region of Great Britain generally known as East Anglia. Suffolk has a land area of 1,466 square mls along with a population of approximately seven hundred and thirty thousand. Suffolk borders the neighbouring counties of Cambridgeshire, Essex and Norfolk, the major town is Ipswich, while additional important towns are Bury St Edmunds, Felixstowe, Newmarket, Stowmarket and Lowestoft. Suffolk is mostly flat and low-lying, in the northern part of the county there are wetland areas which are within The Broads. From 1889-1974 the county of Suffolk was divided into two administrative counties, West Suffolk and East Suffolk.
