Suffolk - Found to the north-east of Greater london, the county of Suffolk is part of the area of The UK generally known as East Anglia. Suffolk incorporates a land area of 1,466 square mls and a population of around 730,000. The county is bounded by the neighbouring counties of Norfolk, Cambridgeshire and Essex, Ipswich is the major town, while other vital towns include Lowestoft, Stowmarket, Felixstowe, Newmarket and Bury St Edmunds. Suffolk is primarily low-lying and flat, in the northern part of the county you will find wetland areas which are part of The Broads. From 1889-1974 Suffolk was separated into two administrative counties, East Suffolk and West Suffolk.
