Costa Blanca (Alicante) - A coastal region located in the south-east of Spain, entirely within the Alicante province of the Valencian Community, the Costa Blanca (White Coast) extends for around 244 kilometres and contains about 74 sandy beaches. The region is the destination for a large number of tourists each year and includes plenty of well known coastal resorts such as Denia, Javea and Benidorm. You can find two cities on the Costa Blanca, Elche (Elx) and Alicante. The name means "White Coast", it was first used in the late 1950's.
