Costa Blanca Overview - A coastal region situated in the south-east of Spain, entirely in the Alicante province of the Comunidad de Valencia, the Costa Blanca runs for 244 km and has approximately seventy four sandy beaches. The area draws in a large number of vacationers every year and contains several well known coastal resorts for instance Benidorm, Calpe and the Orihuela Costa. There are actually two cities in the Costa Blanca region, Elche and Alicante. The name translates as "White Coast", it was first coined in the 1950's.
